Strolling in Heritage Vilage

The Vigan Heritage Village is a town in Vigan, Ilocos Sur that is considered the best-preserved example of a planned Spanish colonial town in Asia. In November 1999, it was placed on the World Heritage List commemorating its cultural significance.

I first went to Vigan Heritage Village in 2003. These pictures were taken on 2008 together with some friends.

Olutanga Fiesta

One of the best things about being able to travel from one island to another island is the opportunity to witness different spectacles and beauties of cultures expressed in different island festivals. Oh, the Philippines has a thousand and one festivals! Now add this one -- Timbaya Festival. This is held during the patronal and town fiesta of the Municipality of Olutanga in Olutanga Island every August 15, on the feast of the Assumption.

The Zamboanga Countryside

One of the most fascinating things about being able to travel is the opportunity to see the beauty of the countryside. The trip from Zamboanga City to Ipil of Zamboanga Sibugay just offers wonderful sceneries to behold. Ah, all things bright and beautiful, indeed.

The International Seaport of Zamboanga

The Port of Zamboanga, Zamboanga, Philippines, is located on the island of Mindanao, in one of the fastest growing zones in Mindanao, Zamboanga. The Port of Zamboanga consists of a number of ports, all contained by the Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone Authority (Zamboecozone), otherwise known by its corporate name as the Zamboanga Freeport Authority (ZFA).

The Zamboanga City International Seaportalso offers four voyages to Sandakan, Malaysia.

Paseo del Mar at Night

Paseo del Mar is located in the heart of Zamboanga City. It covers 2.5 hectares situated along Fort Pilar walls. The seafront parkway faces the scenic of Basilan Island. Paseo del Mar is designed for the whole family and barkada to spend some leisure time such as picnic.

At night enjoy the beauty of Paseo del Mar's colorful decorative lamps, soothing breeze of the air, entertaining bands, numerous kind of foods and drinks. The place is also secured because there are cops who provides twenty four hour security.

This, I believe, is the most beautiful park in Zamboanga City.

Fort Pilar By Night

Fort Pilar (Spanish: Real Fuerza de Nuestra Señora del Pilar de Zaragoza) is a 17th century military defence fortress built by the Spanish colonial government in Zamboanga City on Mindanao Island in the Philippines.

In defense against pirates and raiders of the sultans of Mindanao and Jolo and upon the requests of the Jesuit missionaries and Bishop Fray Pedro of Cebu, the Spanish governor Juan Cerezo Salamanca approved the building of a stone fort in the year 1635. The fort was originally called "Real Fuerza de San José".

Fort Pilar is now an outdoor Roman Catholic Marian shrine and a museum. It is the major landmark of Zamboanga City and a symbol of the city's cultural heritage.
